SPECIAL FEATURE - E-ONE FACTORY VISIT - 2011

On February 10, my wife and I had the opportunity to tour the E-One Factory in Ocala, Florida while on vacation. This is the second such facility I have seen, the first having been the KME factory in Pennsylvania in 2002. Once again I am amazed at the precision and attention to detail that is part of manufacturing the fire apparatus of today. It was also, much like the KME facility, a pleasure to see employees who take a great deal of pride in their product. Because the vast majority of the factory contains proprietary information related to the manufacturing process, out of respect for E-One I did not take photos of the many assembly areas we visited. However, below are just a few sneak peeks of Massachusetts trucks that were in various phases of production while we were there. A huge thank you to our tour guide Tara for making the trip enjoyable and informative.
Please forgive the photo quality as all were taken indoors.
