Smoke could be seen for miles from today's massive mill fire in Uxbridge. Please keep those
who have lost their businesses and jobs, as well as injured firefighters in your thoughts.
I took the left picture shortly after 7:30 this morning. The right picture is Oxford Tower 1
reporting to the fire scene from staging. Over 70 communities responded
to aid Uxbridge during the two-day effort.

NEW 08/30: Boston FD Line Of Duty deaths in West Roxbury fire.
Please keep Boston Firefighters Paul Cahill, Warren Payne
and their families in your thoughts and prayers. These two firefighters from
Engine 30 and Ladder 25 passed away while fighting a blaze
on Center Street in West Roxbury last evening, August 29, 2007.
May they rest in peace.
Several other Boston firefighters as well as a Boston EMS
paramedic were injured during the fire. We wish them a speedy recovery.
